About iPPL
The Institute of Positive Psychology Luxembourg a.s.b.l. (iPPL) is a non for profit professional organisation animating a network of professionals who are passionate about and committed to the science of wellbeing/positive psychology (PP) and its applications.
We are committed to creating a community of professional support and inspiration that actively contributes to the dissemination, development, understanding and application of positive psychology in Luxembourg and beyond.
Our mission
Our mission is to bring together professionals, experts and practitioners, who use the science of well-being/positive psychology in professional contexts to :
- Maintaining professional standards: Encouraging and maintaining high professional standards in the practice, research, dissemination and application of the science of well-being and positive psychology (respecting local rules and regulations as well as international standards in our field and adjacent fields).
- Disseminating positive psychology: Actively promoting the science of well-being/positive psychology in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
- Improve visibility: Raise the profile of our association and its members, both locally and internationally, by actively participating in conferences, projects, running sessions, giving collaborative presentations, etc.
- Supporting the transformation of Luxembourg society: Helping to improve the well-being and mental health of Luxembourg society in different areas (at work, for the elderly, for health professionals, education, etc.).
- Represent Luxembourg: Serve as the representative organisation for Luxembourg within the European Network for Positive Psychology (ENPP), the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) and others.

Positive psychology has been described in many ways, but the commonly accepted definition of the field is this:
“Positive psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living.”
Effectively positive psychology is a scientific approach to studying human thoughts, feelings, and behaviour with a focus on strengths, building the good in life and improving the lives of average people.
